From there it is a short drive to 6545 Arno Road, where Hatcher Family Dairy is a six generation dairy farm in College Grove, Tennessee, bottling its own milk right on the farm at Abe Hatcher Creamery. The gap between a morning at Hatcher and a five o'clock arrival at Arrington is where residents actually gain ground over visitors. Peacock Hill Nature Park at 6990 Giles Hill Road is open daily from 8 am to 6 pm, and the county programs it modestly. Some events, such as Build a Birdhouse and Traditional Basket Weaving, require registration and a small fee, with the full schedule and registration details on the Williamson County Parks & Recreation website. In practice, the trailheads are empty on August weekday mornings and thinly used on Saturdays before noon.
A working note for anyone hosting friends from out of state: the Peacock Hill trail system reads as an afterthought on a map and as a proper afternoon on foot. Bring water. The shade is real but the humidity is not negotiable.

The visitor version of a College Grove Saturday is a two-hour arc: park at the vineyard, drink wine on the lawn, drive home. The resident version is a six-hour arc that starts at Country Market at nine, spends an hour at Hatcher between ten and eleven, uses the middle of the day at home or on the trail, and lands at Arrington between four and five when the shade on the west side of the hill starts to work. The economics of that difference are simple. The area is in Williamson County, the wealthiest county in Tennessee, and it has higher-end coffee shops, restaurants and markets that focus on local food. What that means at ground level is that the day-tripper is paying for parking, a tasting flight, and a food truck. The resident is paying for a bottle at the farm store, a bottle at the vineyard, and the trail is free.

The Hatcher farm store is open Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, and Saturday from 8:00 am to 1:00 pm, which means a Saturday plan needs to put the dairy before lunch. Country Market's rhythm is its own. You will know when to stop in after your second visit.
